WILLIAM WEBSTER
William Webster, Utah pioneer of 1855, will be remembered by a wide circle of friends, but more especially as a Pioneer of Davis County and early settler at Kaysville. He was born in Herefordshire, England in 1816, son of Thomas Webster and Mary Brent Webster.
He was an early convert to the Gospel in his native land, being baptized in 1843 by Thomas Squires.
Twelve years later he came to Utah, but before that time he had been energetic in the promotion of the Gospel cause in his homeland. Upon his arrival in Utah he went directly to Kaysville, where he took a most active part in other English Emigrants, converts to the gospel in England.
In building up his section of country, he was ordained a High Priest in 1858 by Elias Morris and in 1859 was set apart as counselor to Edward Phillips in the presidency of the High Priests Quorum, of Davis County. He held this position throughout the years until his death which occurred in 1894. He was always prompt and energetic in the discharge of his duties, and passed away in full faith regarding the principles of the Gospel.
