Hazen F. Adams

Layton—Hazen F. Adams, 89, of 1738 E. Oakridge, died Thursday, Oct. 27, 1983, at his home of cancer.

He was born Nov. 14, 1893, in Layton, a son of Andy W. and Harriet E. Forbes Adams.

He married Sylvia Flint March 6, 1918, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

He was a retired farmer and a lifelong resident of Layton.

He attended the agricultural college in Logan.

He was a member of the Layton 30th LDS Ward, serving as a high priest. He had been a home teacher and secretary of the high priest group.

He had helped organize the city of East Layton, and served on the Town Board for 14 years as Trustee.

He played on many baseball teams.

Surviving are his widow of Layton, two sons and three daughters, Lynn H. Adams, Kenneth H. Adams, both of Layton; Mrs. Alden (Nora) Burton, Fruit Heights; Mrs. David (Rhea) Sedgwick, Folsom, Calif.; Mrs. Eugene (Faye) Parker, Washington Terrace; 22 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Vida Roueche, Layton; and Mrs. Lawrence (Zella) Sessions, Clearfield.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at noon in the Layton 30th LDS Ward, 1015 N. Emerald Drive, with Bishop Jeff Evans officiating.

Friends may call at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main, Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday at the mortuary from 10 to 11 a.m.

Interment in the Kaysville City Cemetery.
